Index to Witnesses Mentioned in Jackson County Will Book Volume 1 (1853-1889)

JCGL has photographed two volumes of will books residing at the Jackson County Courthouse. Will Book Volume 1 includes wills and probates dated 1853-1889. That index includes all names mentioned in the will. Witnesses mentioned in that volume are indexed separately here because witnesses are often of little genealogical interest. Because they are sometimes relatives or neighbors who would be of genealogical interest, they are indexed here. If you find a name of interest to you, you may wish to search for the same page in the index to Will Book 1 for testators and others mentioned in the will to see if you think the testator is interesting enough to make a copy of the will worth having. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope and a check for $10 payable to the Rogue Valley Genealogy Society.
